Magical, elusive freedom.

The degree to which we feel free waxes and wanes. One day, we are counting our blessings. The next, we are submitting to the chains of what we have not conquered.

• We give our children freedom to test limits, learn by experience, explore their interests.
• We strive for freedom from the things that weigh us down – from finances to strained relationships to emotional debris and physical clutter.
• We long for freedom from fear and exclusion.
• We want freedom from addiction and destructive habits.
• We long to soar away from burdens.

On this day, what steps can you take toward the freedom you desire?

If your world is cluttered, physically, emotionally, mentally, take a deep breath and take one small first step toward eliminating the clutter. Focus on that one accomplished task, no matter how insignificant it may seem to someone else. Then look to the next thing you can put away, give away, throw away, donate.

Believe it or not, a significant part of Dani’s Pixel Place’s mission is focused on seeking freedom.

Photos and video, children’s artwork, family artifacts, the archives of organizations, churches, and historical societies – they hold the memories, the stories, the history of US. Sadly, they are too often the source of guilt too.

Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?

• I didn’t even print any photos for baby #3, let alone make a baby book.
• The past president of our organization never shared the photos, and now he’s gone and so are they.
